Bill: Yes, but I definitely know that it's really demanding to learn a different language. On top of that German is super difficult of course. Meaning, erm...
Tom: Well I mean, it's good when it comes automatically with it that one…[that] music just sparks interest in the German language but to be honest we also never really encouraged it. Meaning, with us it actually was a case, like, we had... make... Also we've just always been making German music, erm, because we could always just write well in German.
Bill: Meaning, after all German definitely always accompanied us. I think it'll also be, like, a part of us forever. And well, we've also had a few English songs but they were translated with a dictionary of course. Meaning, we didn't really know English and erm... therefore...
Tom: Though… Though we'll probably be releasing in English in Japan as well, won't we?
Bill: Exactly. Well… Well, of course it always, always kept getting better and the English songs were also a part of us somehow, like. So therefore we don't actually have a favourite there. Meaning, we're not saying [that] we like the English or the German better now but the German songs have definitely been our roots, obviously.

*Automatisch*

Tom:
And there one misses the dogs the most, I think. Our dogs.
Bill: Yes.
*"Hunde" translation*
Tom: Erm, all of us have got dogs. *Bill agreeing* Bill and I have got four... even. *slightly laughing* Well, them are missed the most. Apart from that of course family, friends, your own bed,...
Bill: And now I'd say the only other thing one, erm, one could miss about Germany a little is definitely punctuality.
*"Pünktlichkeit" translation*
Bill: Erm, I've got to say, erm, in Germany everybody is always very, very punctual and I've got to say I've also got that in me somehow, erm... Tom and I are never late somehow. That's like one of the only things I sometimes miss a little because I'm always very particular about everything and always am on time everywhere and sometimes that's not a given when one gets to somewhere else but one also gets used to it then.
Georg: And unrestricted autobahnen [motorways]!
Bill: Oh yes!
Tom: That's right. The unrestriced autobahnen [motorways]. Without speed limit.
Bill: Yes.
Tom: That's a dream.

*Automatisch*
*Lass uns laufen*

Bill: Well, I've got to say we're pretty much alike in all things. So therefore, erm... There are not many differences between us.
Tom: I, I'm just way cooler… erm… than Bill.
Bill: Well, we've got…
Tom: That… That's something you haven't got.
Bill: We've got a different…
Tom: Coolness… *grinning*
Bill: …and we've got a bit of a different taste in music...
Tom: *still talking about what he's got but Bill hasn't* ...and good looks.
Bill: That's like the only thing. Erm, and apart from that... Yes, we actually agree on many things actually. Well, that's also a problem sometimes. Erm well, we're too, too much alike and so somehow it can also just happen that one loses it and clashes with each other. Well erm, somehow both of us are just... have got a strong personality. Like, everybody always has got an opinion. And therefore, one also disagrees at times. That comes with the territory. I'd actually change about Tom, erm...
Bill & Tom: ...nothing at all.
Bill: And he also wouldn't [change anything] about me. *SMILE*
*Tom grinning*

*Lass uns laufen*

Bill: Greetings to all of our Japanese audience. Erm, many, many thanks for your interest and erm, for your support so far. We're happy, erm, to be coming over for the first time and we can hardly wait to see the country and to travel it and erm... Yes, we're looking forward to it. Many thanks.

Vielleicht gerade wegen all der Abertausenden kreischenden Mädchen.

Translation:
Bill Kaulitz is on his way to become a serious pop artist
Bill Kaulitz is a border crosser. The 21-year-old is a singer, model, advertising character and voice actor – and on his way to become a serious pop artist – but not everyone has noticed it yet.

They searched but didn't recognize him, as he stood in front of them. In the year 2003 Sat 1 [German TV channel] searched for a star, and met Bill Kaulitz. "Star Search" was the name of the Casting show. The 13-year-old Bill, his twin brother Tom and two friends "are making Independent-music according to their own statements", Kai Pflaume [moderator] explained back then, before Bill had entered the first TV stage of his life.

Breathlessly, the little boy with the Little-Vampire-hairstyle and black eyeliner around his eyes, sang the Weather Girls song "It's raining men" and was fidgeting frenziedly with his arms. Afterwards he had to listen to amusements about his flamboyant outfit. He was doing it politely and charming and turned towards the jury with a gorgeous smile.

Hugo Egon Balder [jury member] advised him to follow the comedy direction, because he said his voice is so "funny". Only Jasmin Wagner [another jury member], formerly known as "Blümchen" [engl.: floret; her artist's name], saw his potential. "Congratulations to this performance", she said obviously impressed: "You spare a record company a lot of work." Image advisers, styling experts – with Bill there is no need for all that. "You already bring along all of these things." She topped off with the sentence: "And I think if you continue, it can just go to the top." Balder and the other jury members chose an 11-year-old rapper instead of Bill though.

The friends, with whom the Kaulitz-brothers had already made music back then, are called Georg and Gustav. Nowadays the band is known as Tokio Hotel among all girls in Germany, Spain, Mexico, France, Canada, Israel and soon also the USA. But Bill's exceptional talent is still being unrecognized in a way. Maybe because of exactly those thousands and thousands of screaming girls.

Bill Kaulitz is a border crosser. He is a singer, model, advertising character and voice actor. With plenty of make up in his inconceivably pretty face, he overcomes the border between man and woman, which has an reflexive effect on the rumor that he's homosexual. May he confess not being gay as often as he wants. The sexual ambiguity simply belongs to his image – what confuses much more is, that his identical twin Tom goes around dressed up as normal boy. But Bill Kaulitz reminds of David Bowie, who had established the game with the gender roles as Ziggy Stardust only in the early 70's in the mainstream.

Nothing gets more punished among children than otherness. Obviously Bill has not cared about that all the while. Of course, he hated the school days in the 670-inhabitant-hicksville Loitsche. The reasons are obvious. How are pubescent most likely to react when seeing a guy with black dyed hair, whose hairstyle is as asymmetric as the style of his self-tailored pants? A rhetorical question. He's still doing his own thing unwaveringly. At the age of 9, the twins sing at village fairs, at the age of 12 they get to know Georg and Gustav in a club in Magdeburg and found the band Devilish. One year later, after Bill's performance at "Star Search", the music producer Peter Hoffmann went to exactly this club to see the band perform.

"In microcosm there just happened exactly that thing, which is going on at today's big concerts.", he remembers: "Screaming girls in the front row, mashing boys behind." Hoffmann invites them to his studio in Vögelsen in Lower Saxony, in the Lüneburg Heath. The boys get music- and singing lessons. Devilish becomes Tokio Hotel. They signed a contract with Sony BMG, but after half a year the record company got cold feet. The responsible manager dismisses the band. Sony BMG let slip a multi-million dollar business, the manager lost his job. Instead of them, Universal, Sony BMG's strongest competitor, has one hit after another with the band. Three albums have been released so far. A few days ago, a Best-Of-double-album was released. A CD with the songs in German, a CD with the same songs in English. The big mistake that has settled in the heads of clueless adults is, that Tokio Hotel is a casted boygroup. They have never been. Well, Bill and Tom already wanted to become rockstars when they were in second grade. But so the Rolling Stones had wanted, long before they actually became [rockstars]. The today 21-year-old Tokio-Hotel-frontman is more than just the head of an ageing teenager band with some pop ditties, that makes the masses scream. Kaulitz is one of those humans with unique charisma: androgynous, dramatic, glamorous. His band is getting less and less Nena, but more and more Nirvana.

A few weeks ago, arte [German TV channel] helped to make people as from 30, that have no daughter who's into Tokio Hotel, call attention to this young man. The culture channel showed an episode of its series "Durch die Nacht mit…" [Through the night with…]. In this episode Bill Kaulitz met Wolfgang Joop – and not only the fashion designer has been over the moon with Bill since then. But one could have already known this a long time before. But nobody, who's not in love with one of the Kaulitz-twins or Georg or Gustav, comes up with the idea to watch videos on their homepage or to attend a Tokio Hotel concert. Otherwise much more people would have already noticed that the girls, who had thrown "Diddle"-mice or bras on stage in the past, simply recognized who stands in front of them: an extraordinary young man, who has got what it takes to become a world star.

Finally Tokio Hotel arrived, yes exactly...in Tokyo. For the first time the four Magdeburger visited Japan, where they were wishfully awaited. INROCK MAGAZINE #385 - JAPAN ! ♥

TOKIO HOTEL - Exclusive Photographs from Hamburg.
TOKIO HOTEL's interview before they come to Japan.
"On the stage, I hope we can follow the things that can really stimulate ourselves from the deep hearts."

Interview with Bill Kaulitz.
Interviewer: YUKO KATO
Photos by: P.G.BRUNELLI/INROCK
TH sparked quite a stir among fans. TH accepted the interview from magazine photographer in Hamburg when they were busy with preparing for the South American tour's rehearsal. Their latest on-site interview and photos are released for everyone right away. In fact, we had interviews with Bill and Tom before. It was published on Vol. 13 INROCK★POP! Please pay attention!
Hello, Bill, I'm very glad to talk to you. It is quite excited because it is the first time to talk with you guys. Can you hear me?
Bill:
Yeah.

Ok, what is your schedule for today?
Bill:
I got up very early this morning (editor's note: Berlin time, 12 o'clock), I'm a little bit sleepy right now. Actually if I don't have enough sleep, I can not do anything well. I'm that kind of person, but it doesn't matter! We are doing the rehearsal for the South American tour in Hamburg's rehearsal room.

Wow!!!
Bill:
Yeah, all the band members are doing the rehearsal.

Well, can you tell me some details about the South American tour? Such as theme, setting or anything is ok.
Bill:
It's been almost one year since we began to go on tour. For the new album- Humanoid, we began to go on tour from April in Europe. We have been to many countries. We also performed on Asian MTV awarding ceremony. [Maybe meaning EMA, editor got it wrong] And we had good performances in Singapore and Malaysia. With this new album, we have done a lot of touring for a good while. Finally we made South America as the ending. We were really happy that we had our wish fulfilled, because we always wanted to do so. The first tour is in November, I guess. We are looking forward to it. All the settings were carried from Europe, so the scenery was exactly the same with Europe. The theme of the tours was still "Welcome to Humanoid City". It was the first time we met fans in South America which was so great. And every one in our band had our own solo performance. It was really awesome and we were very nervous.

"We go on a tour round the world as a normal band instead of being made or produced, so we are so lucky."
It's unfortunate that I haven't watched your show yet. What do you guys think of your own show? Is it conceptual or dramatic? Or is it a rock show?
Bill:
Just as you said, the theme of the tour is "Welcome to Humanoid City". In a word, we got the inspiration from the album of "Humanoid", so we prepared several sets of cloths for the show. I changed my clothes 5 times as well. In the conception of creating our own city, we made "Humanoid City" as the theme. This was pretty cool. This time we explored some creative adventures and experienced many new things too. All the members in our band played keyboard or piano or different kinds of instruments. So it was a new experience for everyone. It was a fresh and exciting show, although it was based on the album of Humanoid.

You must spend a lot of money, after all your show was not over after your performance.
Bill:
Yes, the more we spent the more success we got. We hoped we can give all the fans a real show. The music was connected with everything. So we wanted to have perfect costumes, perfect stage. Everything must be matched perfectly. My birth sign is Virgo. In all sense, I am a completist. To let all the fans enjoy the show as much as you like, even as to forget to leave, we made lots of efforts. We hoped everything was perfect.

When you are on the stage, your characteristic is the same with yours in daily life or not?
Bill:
I think the most important point is to reveal myself naturally on the stage. I don't want to give you an impression that I tried to act like some one else or I am assigned to be another person. In the creation stage, I hope we can follow the things that can really stimulate ourselves from the deep hearts. As a band, we have been together for almost 10 years. We have got lots of stage experiences, so we can express ourselves naturally on the stage. It's very important to contact with fans, which is related to the album. So we don't think we are playing some roles. As for me, what I pursued is to try new things and make the show fresh and new.

Where did you get the inspiration of changing the way you perform? Movies? Music? Or books?
Bill:
Sometimes I can get inspired on the trip. There are many ideas. To write them down I always carry notebooks and pens with me on the walk or trip. Sometimes I got some inspiration from fans all over the world. And sometime I got inspired by others' PV. The last way is to listen to our own songs. I had lots of new ideas as I listened to our own music. The way to make PV or design the cover always came into my mind when I was doing the recording in the studio. What inspired me on the album of Humanoid are the things that we don't have on the earth. The cosmos, the aliens and science fiction - unknown things are all the background of this album. We wanted to put all these elements on the stage. It was very difficult to figure out what we exactly want to do and how to do it and finally make a conclusion. Comparing to other albums, this album is full of electronic sounds, which sounds a little different. All the members tried different kinds of instruments. It was also a good idea on stage or external looking.

As you mentioned just now, the album of Humanoid is different from other albums. This new album is more refined. And you guys paid more attention to melody. It's conceptual. The previous albums impressed me as a rock music album.
Bill:
Yeah. But we didn't plan to make this kind of album at the beginning. We didn't have any conceptual thoughts. We figured out involuntarily after we got into the studio. We gathered in the studio. I combined all the themes and ideas in my mind gradually, I wrote and composed the songs. The title of the album was the same, so all of this was not we planned in advance. I didn't think anything like this at the beginning of writing. After I finished writing and producing, I began to think about the title, art designing, stage and so on. As last, I summarized all the ideas and made a complete album. This album was definitely different from the previous albums, but it's what we wanted. We expected something different. Because we took this album seriously, we spent a lot of time in the studio. I don't like to make a deadline or something and then I do my job according to the schedule under a big pressure. Usually the record company released a new album and then talks to us about next one. But it's very important that we have enough time to relax, and we gather in the studio. So we went to many countries and saw many streets for this album. We even went to LA, Miami and Hamburg. We met all kinds of people in cities all over the world and worked with many producers which really helped us find inspiration a lot. It was very cool. This was also a new experience. Just because we spent lots of time and energy, we can figure out how to make a good song.

Oh, I got it. Bill, you are a super star like God in music world. And do you know why so many people are obsessed with you? What do you think? Is there anything that people understands you?
Bill:
I don't know. Just because I don't know, so I can express myself naturally on the stage with no purpose. I don't define myself as any particular person. I am not gonna tell fans that next time which type I will be or what I will look like. What presents in front of you is exactly who I am. When I was a little boy, I put on make up and dyed my hair. That was me. Now in our band I still do what I want. It's very important for us that we are true to ourselves. Georg and Gustav are totally different from me, maybe. Nowadays there are quite few bands like us. "We go on a tour round the world as a normal band instead of being made or produced, so we are so lucky." There are so many German bands like us, I appreciate it a lot. Just enjoy it. We don't have any secret. Cause we dont even know what we will be, we become sort of super star by accident. If there are any bands like us, I believe I must be obsessed with them as well. (Laugh) To be honest, I was really touched as we went to so many countries. When we were in Asia early this year, everyone sang with us together. I was really happy. It was pretty cool for me as an artist at that moment. I was excited to see that kind of scenery. And finally we can go to Japan soon, so I cannot wait any more.

"We were born in a small town. There were many things that we didn't like."
We can not wait either. Your brother and you look like exactly the same. But in our previous interview, it was reported that your characteristics are totally different. Tom also said you two are like the two sides of the coin. Is that true?
Bill:
Yes, you are right. I cannot imagine how I can live without Tom. We are together all the time no matter what we do. I feel we are like one single person. Although we are different on carachteristic, style and ideas, we are perfect when we are together. Because we do every thing together, I cannot imagine what kind of life I can lead by myself. We founded this band together and we went to school together, till now we never separated from one another. The maximum time we separated is no more than 7 days, so actually we are almost together every day. It’s hard to say, it's something that only identical twin brothers can understand. We have some kind of connection like a sixth sense. Even though we are not together, we know what is in the other's mind. It's unbelievable. Yeah, I know it sounds crazy, but I guess this is what identical twin brothers have.

The most unimaginable thing is that you had the same score. I heard that both of you had the same score of 1.8 when you were in high school (editor's note: the way German score system is different from Japan's, 1 is the highest). You were such good students.
Bill:
Yeah! (laugsh) Tom and I didn't like to go to school. I think the most terrible period of time was our school days. I wanted to make music since I was a little boy, and I just did what I wanted, so I didn't have much time to study. I had a feeling that we were supposed to be somewhere else instead of school. School life was tough. We were born in a small town. There was no one who had the same hobbies and thoughts about life with us. At that time our dream was to go to some bigger cities to make music. The days we spent in that small town were not happy, 'cause we hated school. There were many annoyed teachers there. But our scores were good, so it was all right.

You said you have written songs for a good while, what kind of style is your next new song?
Bill:
I keep collecting all kinds of ideas. I think the first thing I have to decide is the date we go to Japan. And we are going to South America later on (editor's note: it is after Japan's tour). Then it comes to a conclusion for this year. We will come back to the studio and start it over. We will spend more time than last time. 'Cause we need to think about what we want to do and what kind of music we want to make. So it's the moment for collecting ideas. After we come back to the studio, we will write songs with our producers like a family, which will be very cool. We look forward to the new album with new songs. And we also expect the next year.

When will the new album be released?
Bill:
I don't know yet. I just have some ideas and have written several songs, but I cannot tell you when we will release the new album. I promise it will be amazing.

VIDEO - BILL & TOM

[*They are talking about Otto Waalkes work for the 'Ice Age' movie.]

Translation:

Tom: That's the thing that everybody picked up on.
Bill: Exactly. I think this is what our generation rather knows from him.

.....

Bill: He simply brought that jocularity into the movie and gave the figure its character. So it even goes beyond his synchronization work actually, because he just had a giant influence on this movie.
....

Bill: There's still such a personal thing with it. He is really in close contact with his colleagues and they'd take part immediately if Otto says he makes a new movie. Everybody wants to take part immediately then.

Tokio Hotel erstmals in Tokio

Tokio Hotel for the first time in Tokyo

The young japanese girls yearned for this moment for so long: When the Band, Tokio Hotel, entered the Hall of residence of the German ambassador in Tokyo smiling, a dozen young japanese girls and pupils of the german school in Yokohama started to scream in delight.

Ambassador Volker Stanzel didn't keep them in suspense for long, now they have the chance to ask the band what they've always wanted to ask them: A girl wants to know what impression they had of japanese girls. Actually she wanted to have her question answered by Bill Kaulitz, but he prefers to pass the mic to his twin brother Tom: «There are also some pretty girls here», he says smiling and the girls melt away.

Tokio Hotel in Tokyo for the first time ever. But this visit won't be the last. «We are amazed that we have so many fans here. We didn't expect that.», says Bill. Already at the airport the brothers and their two other band members, Georg Listing (Bass) and Gustav Schäfer (Drums), were welcomed with self-made christmas presents like Origami Christmas Cards.

The reactions of their female fans might be similar to the ones of their female fans in Germany…«But, I have to say that the girls here are a bit reserved, a little shy, which I find totally cute», says Bill, his black rimmed eyes twinkling. With his stylish Outfit – a military jacket, a black shirt underneath and an amunition belt strapped diagonally across his chest – he fits perfectly into Tokyo and the youth scene of the capital, according to his japanese Fans.

And despite having the word "Tokio" in their Band name, they know almost nothing about Japan. They chose "Tokio" because it would have been a target which they would always have dreamed about reaching, but «never could have imagined to visit it as a Band», says Tom. «When we started, I didn't know a thing about Mangas or anything else from Japan», Bill admits. They said that they heard about the japanese Pop-Music, J-Pop, but…«We don't really have a clue». But this will change. For the start, only a few days in Japan – a performance at the german embassy, followed by a little showcase for advertising purposes in front of invited guests – are planned.

But that's not all: In the next few months more visits to Japan are planned. «We are currently retreating into our creative time in the studio», says Tom. «The Japan-Trips are the only thing which we'll be doing besides being in the studio.» A japanese tour will probably take place after the release of a new album. Tokio Hotel just recently released their «Best Of»-Album.

In any case, they already conquered the hearts of their female fans. «Ich liebe Dich», a young japanese girl stutters in german. Another girl, which travelled to Japan from a far away Province in a black Tokio-Hotel-T-Shirt, practices her german before the signing session in the embassy: «Ich möchte Dich heiraten» ["I want to marry you"]. And a married 30-year old japanese women asks a german reporter to teach her a sentence she wants to say to Bill and Tom: «Ich wollte, ich hätte Euch zur Welt gebracht». ["I wish I had given birth to you"].

LOS 40 PRINCIPALES ARGENTINA [28.11.10] ! ♥

VIDEO - RADIO INTERVIEW

Translation:
Welcome to Latin America! What can you tell us about this tour? Do you like Latin America?
Bill:
We are totally looking forward to the tour because we wanted to come here for quite some time. And we're happy to do it finally. Everything went great, better than expected. The reactions of the fans were great, we had really great concerts and it was amazing how the fans were waiting for us at the airport.

Do you like the production of the shows? Are you really a part of it?
Bill:
We don't like to let other people do the things. We're perfectionists. We like to control everything so that it is as perfect as we want it.

What are you doing five minutes before you go on stage? Is there a tradition?
Bill:
We activate our "Power Rangers-Super Power". This is our secret power that we activate before each concert. And we are very nervous before each show.

What do you do when you're not on stage? Is your relation good?
Tom:
We're more than friends, we have such a strong connection, we aren't only brothers, we're twins. We live together, we're 24 hours a day together, we do and share everything together. The longest time that we were separated, were 4-5 days. We are one person split into two bodies.

LUNA TEEN MAGAZINE #52 - ARGENTINA ! ♥

Translation:
Alone with Tokio Hotel

Previously to their show in Chile in front of more than 7.000 people, Luna Teen was able to talk with the 4 members of Tokio Hotel inside the Sheraton Hotel in Santiago, To be honest, Georg and Gustav, bassist and drummer respectively, didn't said to much; the Kaulitz twins took the lead instead. The day they arrived there was a Little earthquake that made them a quite uneasy but, when we explains to them that this was something usual in this latitudes, they calm down and chatted distend. Bill, tall and skinny, full of necklaces and a pair of heels that dizzy us because of their height. Tom looks like he came out of an Eminem video. Georg, from Bon Jovi's band, and Gustav could well be the drummer of a metal band with his skull tattoos and neatly cut hair.

So different in their looks, is surprising to see them together, laughing at private jokes and understanding each other with a glance. Their personalities are as different as their looks but that's how Tokio Hotel is, this band that's already a decade old even though their band members are between 20 and 23 years old. Veterans of world stages, they are still surprised in front of their fans admiration, that transcends the language barrier and follow them wherever they go. This time was Chile's turn, Argentina will be set for the next visit (or at least that's what they would like).

Luna Teen - Finally you've arrived to Latin America. How was the tour?
Bill:
We had big expectations with this tour long ago, we really wanted to come and we finally could. So far, everything was perfect, better than expected, there was no problem, people received us really well. Even in the airport there were a lot of fans waiting for us.
Tom: We brought the same tour we did in Europe, and a great bassist. (says jokingly referring to Gustav I think they meant Georg)

Luna Teen - You're very involved in all the production process of the show. Why is that?
Bill:
We're very obsessive and perfectionists and we don't have much confidence in anybody other than us! No, really, we're perfectionists but it's hard for us to leave the responsibility to others and also we like to be part of the process and be on everything.

Luna Teen - What do you do 5 minutes before going on stage?
Bill:
We activate our Power Rangers superpowers, that we all have, but in general we're very nervous before going out.
Tom: Georg goes to the toilet!

Luna Teen - Bill, Tom, how is the relationship of you two outside the band?
Bill:
We're not just brothers, we're identical twins, we have a very special relationship, we spend 24 hours a day together, we share everything, it's something automatic, we get along really well, we are more than friends.
Tom: We have never been separated for more than 4 or 5 days.

Luna Teen - How do you conciliate 4 different personalities?
Tom:
We're completely different, besides the band we have very little in common but we've been working together for 10 years, we get along really well, we grew up together.
Gustav: We're a band but we all have different tastes.
Bill: We're like 4 brothers, we grew up together, since we were very little, we've been together a lifetime.

Luna Teen - Is there a particular song you like the most?
Bill:
Many, it's really hard to choose one, we have a special connection with each song, each one connects in a special way with the songs and, also, they respond to different emotional moments and have their own history.

Luna Teen - Being the 4 of you so different, is there songs that are left out because not everyone likes it?
Tom:
Yes, many are left out.
Bill: When we get in the studio, we spend a lot of time recording.
Georg: We record a lot of songs in a year and maybe the last ones make it to the album.
Bill: Although, they're not always the best.

Luna Teen - The Best of… It's about to come out. Is their going to be any surprise?
Bill:
There are 2 new tracks, one that we recorded long ago, before my voice changed, so the difference is noticeable, it's only recorded in German and the other one, it's a 2009 track that is only in English. They are 2 very different songs.

Luna Teen - What do you think is the reason of your success, of having such a solid career?
Tom:
We're better than most!
Bill: We found each other, there wasn't somebody that put us together, we grew up together and found our own sound, we started playing and things came out naturally.
Georg: It was a natural process, since we were very little, I think that gave us a very strong identity.

Luna Teen - What difference you found between your European fans and the Latin ones?
Bill:
Fans here are happier to see us than in other places, maybe it's because they don't see us very often. They are more used to it in Europe.
Tom: Here they are really intense! We like women with such a strong personality.

Luna Teen - What was the craziest thing that happened with your fans?
Gustav:
A lot of stuff, too many stories.
Bill: In Spain, when we finished playing, we came off the stage and we had to run from a fan. We never knew how she managed to get backstage. We think she climbed the walls. I don't know.
Tom: And again, Georg found 4 naked girls in his hotel room!
Georg: We've been through thousands of stories, it's impossible to tell them all.

Luna Teen - What are your plans for next year?
Tom:
Many.
Bill: We're always playing, rehearsing, writing songs but we can't assure that we'll release a new album in 2011.
Tom: But it's going to be a year full of surprises that we can't tell yet.

Luna Teen - Bill, why do you have such an extravagant look?
Bill:
I like fashion a lot, its fun for me, I'm very spontaneous, every morning I choose what I'm going to wear according to how I feel, I love to travel with a lot of clothes to choose and change.

Luna Teen - Who's the one that takes the longest to get dress?
Everybody: Tom!
Tom:
Georg and Gustav also work a lot on their style and nobody asks them! Well, if you want to call this a style... (Jokes pointing Gustav)
Bill: We don't agree on a look, each one has their own and nobody tells the others what they should wear.

Luna Teen - Do you have any lucky charm or something you can't forget when you arrived to a country to play a concert?
Bill:
Yes, I have a locket with my mom and Tom's picture and I always wear it. If I don't have it, everybody gets worried, they think something might go wrong. I also have a little box full of memories and little things that I always carry with me. That is where the important things are.

Amazing Leader's lover recruitment

Bill Kaulitz (singer)

Full Name: Bill Kaulitz Trümper
Birthday: 1st September 1989 Age: 21
Hometown: Leipzig, Germany
Height: 188cm
Weight: 52kg
Color of hair: Black (The color of his real hair is dark brown)
Color of eyes: Brown
Favorite food: Pizza, pasta, in the past I like fast food but now I'm a vegetarian.
Favorite drink: Cola, strawberry milk, peppermint tea.
Family member: Mum - Simone works in a free tailor's shop.
Biological Dad - Jörg Kaulitz is a truck driver.
Stepfather - Gordon Trümper is a musician.
Identical twin brother - Tom Kaulitz.
Favorite bands: Green Day, Depeche Mode, David Bowie, Bonaparte, Aerosmith, Kings Of Leon

After Bill's parents divorced at his age of 7, Bill and Tom were raised by his mother. Gradually influenced by his mother-s new boyfriend who is a guitarist, Bill got interested in music (later on his mother married Gordon). When Bill was 10 years old, he founded a band with the help of his stepfather. He began to play the song that he wrote by himself in a club. During his teenage days, he was considered as a fancy dressing boy among his classmates in his hometown, because he wore the suits and clotheses that he made manually. In addition, he always argued with some one else. Soon after, Gustav and Georg joined in their band and they worked very hard under the name of Devilish. However, there were rarely good performances. Fortunately, Bill participated in a show program called Star Search. In the show, he sung the "It's raining man" of Geri Halliwell, and he lost in the quarter-final, which drew the attention of a famous producer. He grasped the opportunity to be a super star and finally the band signed a contract with Universal Music Company in 2005. Then after they made their debuts, Tokio Hotel created a big sensation not only in Germany but also all over the world. Because of too many trips and shows, Bill had to quit his school at the age of 15 and continued studying through tutors and internet. In 2007 he graduated in Koln (notes: school, between junior high school and senior high school). By the way, Bill's average score in 6 grades was 1.8, which was a very high score (opposite to Japanese score system, 1 is the highest).
Because of Bill's fancy dressing, he was chose as the best dresser in German GQ magazine. Besides this he also established his fashion pioneer place. Tokio Hotel attended the Italian fashion brand "DSQUARED2" FW fashion show, did a photo shoot with Karl Lagerfeld for VOGUE Germany 30th anniversary issue and dubbed an animated film named "Arthur und die Minimoys". Talking about Bill's girlfriend issue that his fans are interested in, now there is no certain answer, which seems like Bill is not that popular among girls. In the past 7 years, Bill didn't have a girlfriend and till now he has been looking for.

Hip Hop culture obsessed popular boy

Tom Kaulitz (guitarist)

Full Name: Tom Kaulitz Trümper
Birthday: 1st September 1989 Age: 21
Hometown: Leipzig, Germany
Height: 188cm
Weight: 52kg
Color of hair: Black (The color of his real hair is dark brown)
Color of eyes: Brown
Favorite food: Pizza, pasta with tomato sauce, in the past I like fast food but now I'm a vegetarian.
Favorite drink: Cola, strawberry milk.
Family member: Identical twin brother - Bill Kaulitz
Other family members are same with Bill's.
Favorite bands: Aerosmith and all the HIP HOP bands like Sammy Deluxe

Tom was born 10 minutes before Bill. They are identical twin brothers. However, they look totally different if we judge from their appearances. Tom always wears a baseball cap, no makeup and wears a Cornrow hairstyle. Now he likes Hip Hop and Cornrow. Tom admitted this point as well that they look totally different on their outside look. But he believes that if they work together, they will become much stronger as one individual. They are like exactly two sides of one coin. About their views of love, they think differently. In Tom's own phrase, he is more popular than Bill among girls. His view of love is quite flexible and he believes that he can have a romantic love even in one night stand. Although they look differently at first glance, they do have something in common which is study. Tom quit his school at age of 15 as Bill did and graduated in Koln (notes: school, between junior high school and senior high school). Coincidently Tom’s score was exactly the same with Bill's, 1.8 in 6 grades.

Healing musical bassist with refreshing smile

Georg Listing (bassist)

Full name: Georg Moritz Hagen Listing
Birthday: 31st March 1987 Age: 23
Hometown: Magdeburg, Germany
Height: 178cm
Weight: 72kg
Color of hair: Brown
Color of eyes: Green
Favorite food: Fotopoulos, Hot Pop
Favorite drink: Red Bull, Cola
Family members: Parents divorced and no brothers or sisters.
Favorite bands: G Green Day, Oasis, Red Hot Chilli Peppers,Die Ärzte

Georg's parents were both doctors, so he grew up in a wealthy family. His parents could not play any instrument, but they all liked rock 'n' roll music, especially his father collected many classic rock 'n' roll music records of Eric Clapton, Beatles, The Rolling Stone and so on. His home was filled with music all the time. In Georg's childhood, he was always brought to a live concert, therefore he fell in love with music naturally. He had ever planned to found a band with his friends in junior high school, but this plan came to naught. Soon after he made acquaintance with Gustav in music school and then they were obsessed with music. Like Bill and Tom, Georg's parents divorced, but his mother had been telling him to follow his heart no matter what he wanted to do. He pursued everything including music freely. The first impression on Georg since his debut was a boy with refreshing straight hair, but he goes to beauty salon to straighten his hair. Actually his real hair is curl hair.

Early bird in the band

Gustav Schäfer (drummer)

Full name: Gustav Klaus Wolfgang Schäfer
Birthday: 8th September 1988 Age: 22
Hometown: Magdeburg, Germany
Height: 173cm
Weight: 68kg
Color of hair: Dark Brown
Color of eyes: Brown
Favorite food: Beef ribs boiled with potatoes, rabbits and beans, cheeseburger
Favorite drink: Red Bull, Cola
Family members: Parents, sister
Favorite bands: Metallic, Slipknot, Rod Stewart

Gustav's father and sister played guitar all the time, so he grew up in a family full of music. His father always played some videos for him when he was at home. Gustav knocked at the table as he beat a drum when he watched the video. Gustav's father found that Gustav was interested in drum and he sent Gustav to a music school. So Gustav began to beat drums at age of 5. In elementary school, Gustav became interested in other things, however, his father was pretty strict with him. Then his father and Gustav watched Genesis's video again. Gustav was touched by such a big amount of Genesis's fans and swore to himself that in the future he wants to be a big shot like Genesis. After all this, he kept practicing rain and shine. Father's words were hunting in his mind. Gustav kept practicing as his father taught him, and then he encountered Georg in music school. Soon after, they founded the band with Bill and Tom together under name "Tokio Hotel". However, in 2008, Gustav got into a big traffic accident. On 5th Nov. he was driving his BMW. He crossed over the lane and ran into a tram. Fortunately, he didn't suffer injures in this accident while both his BMW and the tram were damaged seriously. Misfortune continued occurring. In July 2009, Gustav was badly injured by a beer bottle which two unknown men held in their fights in a club in Magdeburg. Because of this, he got 36 stitches from his forehead.

Bill's identical twins brother - Tom Exclusive Interview

"We talk about everything together. During one day we discuss a wide range of topics. When we are lying on the bed, we even talk about what to choose between ice coffee and hot coffee."

Tom Kaulitz/Tokio Hotel Interviewer: YUKO KATO

Before Tokio Hotel comes to Japan, we made a phone call to their studio in Hamburger. They are doing the rehearsal for their South America trip.
Tom picked up the phone and his voice was so fresh and vigorous as he burst out of the phone.
According to their historical popularity in Europe, we thought he would be not as gentle as a gentleman. However, to a big surprise he gave us a pretty good impression.

Based on the information on the internet, you have been looking for some place to move in recently. Is it because of recording? Or is it temporary?
Tom:
Yeah, we are going to move to LA. But we have a new house in Hamburg as well.

Why? Have you moved to LA already?
Tom:
We have been living in Hamburg before, but we decided to move to LA because we are going to cooperate with the producer who lives in LA. Our decision is based on our work, so we decided to move to LA.

According to the rumors, after you finish recording this new song, four of you want to go back to Germany instead of staying in LA, don't you?
Tom:
In fact, Georg and Gustav still live in Magdeburg Germany. Bill and I live in LA. But right now we are in Germany, because we are absorbed in the rehearsal for South America trip.

Is it okay? You guys are separated from each other. What is the collective wisdom for a group?
Tom:
Actually, it is just a little bit troublesome. But we have founded this band for almost 10 years, so there will not be some special problems for us. We can meet in the rehearsal room and do everything for the rehearsal. Just like the very beginning, we practiced and wrote songs together in Germany, then Georg and Gustav come over and we do the rehearsal together.

I heard of some news that Bill brought all his 4 dogs to LA. Is it real?
Tom:
Yes, all 4 dogs are in LA.

How is your life in LA? Do you live with Bill?
Tom:
Absolutely, we live together.

Where do you live in LA?
Tom:
West Hollywood, it is nice place.

Do you have many friends in LA?
Tom:
We don't have many friends in LA, even in Germany we don't have too many friends. (laugh)

Is it because you are super stars?
Tom:
Ehm, it is one of the reasons, I think. After all we don't live like normal people. But since we were in high school, we do have two or three close friends. If they come to LA, then it is wonderful. We have friends in LA, but because of the work we always come and go from the studio and out home. Our producer lives in LA, so it is amazing, isn't it?

When you were in Germany, you must have been shadowed by thefts or followers. Maybe your life in LA could be safer and more peaceful.
Tom:
Yeah, I hope so. It's a reason that we move to LA.

Your South America trip is the first step entering American market. It is really a good beginning.
Tom:
Maybe, I guess out next album will release soon. In 2010, we plan to go to Japan and have some promotional show case. We are looking forward to. We will finish new album after our South America trip, so I think it will take a little bit time. Therefore, it will also take a while to enter American market.

We know everyone has their own hobbies, by the way, who does the housework at home? Bill? Or does someone help you with that?
Tom:
There are some people who help us do the housework, coz the house is too big, it's necessary to hire some to do that. But we sometimes do some housework together as well.

Tokio Hotel is absolutely super star in Europe. Do you want to take the advantages of your star effects to do some charity work? Or some work like charity?
Tom:
Of course, we have done many different kinds of charity work. It has been almost 3 years since Bill and I became vegetarian. In this aspect, even though there is not so many this kind of charity work, we will find some work to do as well.

You are a vegetarian, but I am a meat lover. (laugh)
Tom:
Oh, you are a vegetarian, so are Georg and Gustav.

I like eating meat. I only ate meat in 7 days when I was in Germany. It seems like that German like eating meat.
Tom:
Although I am a vegetarian and I don't eat meat, but I have to eat healthy food otherwise I have no strength at all. In the past, I like eating fast food such as cheeseburgers and hotdogs.

Tom, would you mind telling me your personality?
Tom:
It is a tough question. You'd better ask Bill. In my mind, I am a brilliant lovely beautiful guitarist. And I am also very kind. Bill and I are both Virgo, so I am a perfectionist. Sometimes, on this aspect I am like sort of freak, so I may cause troubles.

When Bill and you are together, what do you talk about?
Tom:
You mean when we are together? We decide everything together, no matter what. When we are lying on the bed, we still discuss what to choose between ice coffee and hot coffee, or which color is better for the floor of the rehearsal room, or which song do we play or how to play in the show. We share everything with each other.

You have a studio at home in Hamburg, will you have one in LA?
Tom:
Because we just moved, some furniture will be delivered in 2 or 3 weeks. The house in Hamburg is empty. Coz the house in LA is so big that I think…

Do you plan to build a studio room in which you can make an album by yourself?
Tom:
Yes, I believe we are going to build one though it takes a lot of money.

Then you can make your own music that you like anytime.
Tom:
Sure, we have been doing so when we were in Hamburg. We can write songs as we record, and then we can do the recording officially in producer's studio. So we have to make a decision. Shall we spend lots of money to build our own studio in our house or find some other studio to help us with recording?

Is the producer David Jost?
Tom:
David Jost and Dave Roth.

Are you going to cooperate with these two people for the next album?
Tom:
I think so. Except them, we will invite some other producers and song-writers to join us. Coz we want to do something special and fresh, but I don't know too much about the next album. We don't make plans. As long as we haven’t started writing, we don’t know what is going to happen next.

Did you sing a song in Japanese 3 or 4 years ago, right?
Tom:
Yeah, it's "Durch den Monsun".

Will you sing in Japanese again?
Tom:
I don't know yet. Bill is responsible for this. But as for Bill, it's really difficult for him to sing in Japanese. And except English and German, we are too lazy to learn other foreign languages. So we need help when we do the recording. Although we had a good time when we recorded the "Durch den Monsun" Japanese version, it is really hard. Oh, you heard that one, didn't you? Can you understand what we sung?

In fact, I just read some relating information, I haven't listened. But I promise you if you sing in Japanese when you come to Japan this time, I will tell you how well you sing.
Tom:
Ok, then.

Next question is a basic one. Why do you name your band "Tokio Hotel"?
Tom:
The original name is "Devilish".

Yeah, I know that, it's a cool name.
Tom:
Sure, it is a pretty cool name. we want a cooler one. So we decided to be under name "Tokio" after discussion. Tokyo sounds more beautiful than Berlin. However we have never been there before. To some extent, the name of our band symbolizes the final goal for us. And our next destination is Tokyo. We are going to play live.

What do you know about Tokyo or Japan?
Tom:
I have no idea. Some people told me that Japan is a colorful world, so we really want to experience by ourselves. Actually there is no specific image of Tokyo in my mind. I think it will be a big surprise.

Tom, do you have something that you want to do in Japan? Do you have something to say to your fans?
Tom:
Sure. I really appreciate that you are so surportive all the time. We are looking forward to going to Japan and meet all you guys on the live concert and show case. This is our first time to go to Japan, so we are so excited. We are longing for seeing the streets, tasting Japanese food and so on. We can not wait any more.

ADAM LAMBERT TALKS ABOUT BILL [GINGERGENERATION.IT] ! ♥

You will hate me for this question because it has been asked a billion times ... you said you like Bill from Tokio Hotel, right?
Yes, he's cute!

... There is a kind of struggle between the fans, some of them are your fans while others can not stand you because they think you're trying to imitate him. What have you to say to these people?
Yes, I've heard about it, but this is ridiculous, there's really nothing to argue! We have similar tastes and I can not understand ... what is it that haunts so much the fans! (Laughs)
I started dressing like a fool and listen to the music I listen well before I come to know who Tokio Hotel are. You can may take some women pop stars and even make comparisons ... I do not know, you can look at Beyoncé and Rihanna and find a few similar things, like clothes they wore ... but no one is copying anyone! It's only fashion and style. We both like the black, we both want to be nice ... That's all! (Laughs) And we're both singers. Well, I sing live. He sings live?

Not always. For sure you have a much more powerful voice ...
... I didn't tell that! I do not want to offend anyone. (Laughs)

Have you ever thought to record your songs in another language?
Uhm ... No, but it would be a good test. I have already sung in other languages ... it would be cool. I sang in Italian! In high school I did lyrical music for like a year and half, so I learned Italian, Latin, i may have made a song in French ...

What is the worst prejudice that people have on you?
Well, I do not know what prejudices can have. At first I was all "oh my God, who knows what will people think!" Now I let it go, basically. Dunno, what do you think?

I do not know ... maybe just the one about Bill?
Ah yes, that is really big. But I think it just happened that, during some interviews, I've been asked who I liked and my honest reaction was to say "Well, Bill is a nice guy." It is, no? I'm not trying to steal him from the fans, don't worry! Among the other thing he's straight, no? Exactly. (Laughs)

NEW BILD.de ARTICLE ! ♥

Tokio Hotel: First visit to Tokio
Since six years Tokio Hotel are known under this name in the music industry, but Bill Kaulitz & Co. have never been to Tokio.

Now the four boys from Madgeburg want to eliminate this tiny flaw in their Band-History. On December 15th they'll visit Japans capital and play a gig in front of the most important japanese journalists.

Germanys internationally most successful Rockband already had several #1 Hits in a lot of South-East-Asian countries, now they want to conquer Japan too. The japanese music Magazines are already full of reports about Tokio Hotel – and this, without the band ever having been there.

Bill and Tom will fly to Tokio directly from their new adoptive home, Los Angeles, where they’re currently working on new songs with their producer David Jost. Georg and Gustav will travel to Japan from Germany.
